Alaska weather

NOW it feels like we are in Alaska! Temperatures are dropping (high 30's - 40's during the day) and light snow has fallen. Hubby has started to get into the swing of things at his workplace, but I'm sure he'd like to be doing more once they are organized.

We've been attending Bible Baptist Church and have really enjoyed the preaching, teaching, singing and fellowship. It is a large church and a bit challenging to get to know folks, but I'm working on getting to know more people. Emmali was baptized this past Sunday. I have been waiting years for her to want to do this and Master Club helped her finally take that step.

Our housing status is still homeless, but at least hotel life is supplying free breakfast (albeit full of carbs) and free laundry - which is great because I'm doing laundry every other day. We should be in our house in about two weeks. I am so excited!

We are doing some school in the hotel room, but it is challenging with limited space and not much QUIET. The kids have made some friends in the hotel and they enjoy the afternoons when they usually get to meet on the playground. We enjoyed a game night in the lobby with the kids last week. Today we are planning to walk down to the library for a change of scenery and maybe some good reading.

I don't have many updated pictures right now, but I promise once we move into our house I will have some to share.

Things I want to see this winter: Northern Lights and some cool ice sculptures
Things I do not want to see: A moose in my backyard, me-sliding on the icy roads

Oh Northern Lights! That's awesome! And what's wrong with seeing a moose in your backyard IF you are safely in the house? haha!

EXACTLY, Mary! As long as I am safely in my house and the moose doesn't want in! LOL
